The assessment
A thorough assessment, not a quick screening
Hearing changes gradually, and it deserves more than a cursory check. Assessments are conducted by an HCPC-registered audiologist with the time and precision a proper evaluation requires — concluding with results you understand, and advice you can rely upon.
Otoscopic examination
A careful inspection of the ear canal and eardrum. If ear wax is found to be affecting your hearing, we will advise you before any testing proceeds.
Pure-tone audiometry
Precise measurement of each ear’s hearing thresholds across the full speech-frequency range, conducted in a quiet consultation room.
Your results, explained
A considered explanation of your results, with a written report and your audiogram to keep, or to share with your GP.

Independent advice
Impartial recommendations, on clinical grounds alone
We are an independent practice, bound to no manufacturer. Where hearing instruments would be of genuine benefit, our recommendation is drawn from the full range of leading manufacturers — Oticon, Phonak, Signia, Widex and GN ReSound among them — and made on clinical grounds alone; where they would not, we will say so. Hearing aids begin from £798 and include a seven-day home trial, with fitting and aftercare provided at the Wallington clinic.
Ear wax removal
Gentle microsuction under direct vision, without water or syringing. From £60 — at present, both ears are treated for the single-ear fee with code 20OFF.
Hearing instrument care
Fitting, programming and aftercare, irrespective of where your instruments were originally supplied.
Tinnitus consultation
Structured assessment and practical management advice from a registered audiologist.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
How long should I allow for the assessment?
Approximately one hour. We consider anything less insufficient for a genuine diagnostic evaluation.
Do I require a GP referral?
No. Appointments may be booked directly, online or by telephone, and we will gladly provide your GP with a copy of your report.
Is the assessment free for over-65s?
Until 31 August, patients aged 65 and over receive the complete assessment without charge or obligation — quote code FREEHT when booking.
What happens if ear wax is discovered?
Where wax is affecting your hearing, it can usually be removed by microsuction during the same visit (from £60), after which your hearing can be measured accurately.
How soon can I be seen?
With clinics Tuesday to Saturday, appointments are generally available within the week. Telephone 020 8150 7178 and we will arrange the earliest convenient time.
